Xiaomi showcased 5G version of its upcoming flagship smartphone, The Mi Mix 3, at an event in China. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G model is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and an X50 5G modem with a maximum speed of 2GBPS while the non-5G variant is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Xiaomi demonstrated how you can surf the web and stream live videos more quickly through the 5G network.

Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The upcoming flagship processor will be manufactured on a 7nm process which has same fabrication process as the Apple A12 bionic chipset and Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor. The processor also 5G ready thanks to being compatible with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem with the maximum download speed support up to 2GBPS.

The 5G variant of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is expected to commercially be available early next year. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is not only 5G phone that we will see in 2019. OnePlus said that its next flagship smartphone will be a 5G-ready smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Samsung had already announced plans to launch its first 5G-ready smartphone in 2019 in partnership with Verizon and will also be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. As previously revealed, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G-variant will feature 10GB of RAM, a new slideable design and a bezel-less display and a dual-camera setup on the rear.
