Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), world’s first smartphone with the rear quad camera setup has been launched in India on Today. The handset sports four rear camera setup which has telephoto, ultra-wide, depth sensors. The device was initially launched at a launch event in Kuala Lumpur. The device has two storage – 6GB and 8GB variants.

The price of Samsung A9 (2018) is Rs. 36,990 for 6GB RAM variant and Rs. 39,990 for 8GB RAM variant. The smartphone is available in three colour variants which are Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink and Lemonade Blue. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) will go on sale in all online stores in India and offline stores from November 28. The smartphone is available to pre-book from today.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) has a 6.3-inch FHD+(1080×2220 pixels) Infinity display with Super AMOLED panel with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The smartphone has octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC which has four cores clocked at 2.2Ghz and four cores clocked at 1.8Ghz and it runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) based on Samsung Experience UI. The smartphone is available in two storage variants – 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM. Both RAM variants come with 128GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
The smartphone has a quad camera setup at the back which sports 24-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor featuring 2X optical zoom and an aperture of f/2.4, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 120-degree lens and f/2.4 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth camera with a f/2.2 aperture. Samsung says that the Galaxy A9 (2018)’s primary sensor uses Pixel Binning Technology to merge four pixels in one for capturing details. On the front, there is a 24-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front sensor, There is preloaded Face Unlock Feature in Galaxy A9 (2018).
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is backed by 3,800 mAh battery and supports fast charging with USB Type-C. On connectivity basis, it has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual-band,2.4 GHz and 5.0GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
