MediaTek Launched new mid-range processor Helio P70 SoC(system-on-chip). It is the upgraded version of Helio P60. The company claimed that the Helio P70 chipset improves enhanced AI engine, upgrading imaging support and camera support gaming performance and connectivity compared to Helio P60. The chipset is currently in production and will be available for smartphone manufacturers by the end of 2018.
The MediaTek Helio P70 is an octa-core SoC that’s been built on TSMC’s 12nm FinFET process. It features four 2.1GHz ARM Cortex-A73 core along with four 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores.
The SoC also features an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU that is clocked up to 900 MHz. The company also claimed that the Helio P70 is 13 percent faster compared to Helio P60 and optimised touch latency, optimised to reduce frame jitter.
Helio P70 comes with a dedicated 525 MHz multi-core APU for better AI processing, based on the company’s own Neuropilot programme.
The Helio P70 SoC with a 4G LTE modem with up to 300 Mbps peak download rates and also support dual 4G VoLTE. An AI video encoder on the board also helps enhance video quality and can be used to improve Facebook and Skype video calls even on the connection of lower Bandwidth.
